Brain Land is a science-based cognitive training center located in North Vancouver on Lloyd Avenue, in a high-traffic and easily accessible commercial area, designed to serve all age groups including Kids, teenagers, adults, seniors, in individual, group, and family sessions.

Since joiningthe IDEA Lab atUBC in 2023, Dr. Sarrafrazavi has contributed to projects that utilize virtual reality to improve cognitive and emotional well-being in older adults. Her multidisciplinary expertise in neuroscience, psychology, and digital neurotherapy is instrumental in shaping Brain Land’s scientific foundation, ensuring that the company’s programs align with cutting-edge research in cognitive development.

How It Works

Each participant begins with a formal cognitive assessment conducted by qualified neuroscientists and registered counsellors. Using neuroscience-based assessment games, we establish a baseline cognitive profile.

Based on assessment results, an individualized cognitive training plan is created, outlining:

Training is delivered through 90-minute sessions, facilitated by trained professionals following standardized protocols.

A guided progression across Brain Land’s training zones

Participant progress is monitored, and training plans are adjusted as needed.

Dr. Mahdiyeh Sarrafrazavi –Ph.D. in Neuroscience

Program Development, Neuroscience Research & Digital Neurotherapy Innovation

Dr.Mahdiyeh Sarrafrazavi is the Program Directorof Brain Land. She holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and a Master’s degree in Psychology, and currently serves as an active neuroscience researcher at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She is also a Registered Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

Dr Sarrafrazavi has already founded and directed the Cognitive Assessment and Rehabilitation Laboratory at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences(MUMS), where she developed advanced cognitive assessment and neurorehabilitation programs. Her work integrates virtual reality and innovative technologies to enhance neuroplasticity, learning, and brain-based therapeutic outcomes.

Ali Naghavi – Founder &Chief Executive Officer(CEO)

Ali Naghavi brings over three decades of senior management experience across Canada and internationally. He has a strong background in top–level leadership, having founded and managed multiple companies such as Geno Home Construction Ltd., Diar Retail Ltd., “Eskan Sanat Beton” and “Omran Khalij-e-Fars”, in both countries, Canada and Iran.

Maryam Sarrafrazavi – Operations Manager

Maryam holdsan MBA from the University of Canada West in Vancouver and brings more than 20 years of experience in operational management and administrative. Maryam serves as the Operations Manager in Brain Land, taking care of daily operations, scheduling, administrative coordination, and ensuring smooth customer experience across all Brain Land programs and services.

Arash Naghavi– Marketing Coordinator

Role: Marketing Strategy, Technology Integration & Digital Growth Coordination

Arash Naghavihas a solid background in technology, marketing, and entrepreneurship, bringing practical experience and a balanced approach to our team. He currently serves as the Founder and CEO of Gino Marketing Group Ltd. in Vancouver, where he excels in client acquisition, digital marketing strategy, and business growth planning. Previously, he held roles as  Assistant Manager and Lead Facilitator at Steamoji, Inc., where he introduced children to emerging technologies like 3D printing and robotics, honing his communication and leadership skills. He also gained valuable experience in financial education and community engagement through his work with World Financial Group and UBC SCIA. Moreover,he was actively involved in entrepreneurial communities such as The Knowledge Society and YELL Canada, demonstrating his commitment to innovation and leadership.

Bahar Naghavi – Co founder & Program Facilitator

Bahar Naghavi, Co-founder and program Facilitator of Brain Land, hasworked at Steamoji Inc., Since 2023, where she has facilitated a wide range of educational workshops and technology-based activities for students—both at Steamoji locationsand in various partner schools. She has contributed to developing engaging lesson plans, instructional materials, and hands-on learningexperiences that supportstudent creativity and skill development. long side her facilitation work, Bahar has also worked as a tutor, furtherstrengthening her instructional and communication skills.

Dr. Negin Motamed Yeganeh, Ph.D., RCC

Role: Director at Brain Land

Dr. Negin is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) specializing in child psychology and developmental neuroscience. She holds a Ph.D. in Child Psychology and completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of British Columbia (UBC), focusing on the neurological foundations of children’s cognitive and emotional development. At Brain Land, she ensures that all programs align with evidence-based neuroscience, guiding the design of activities that support cognitive growth, emotional regulation, and healthy developmental outcomes for children and families.

Dr. ShabnamNobahar, Ph.D., RCC Clinical

Role: Neuroscience-Based VR Programs & Cognitive Enhancement Technology

Dr. Shabnamis a Registered Clinical Counsellor(RCC) with advancedtraining in psychology and counselling. Her work focuses on supporting children, adolescents, and adults through evidence-based therapeutic approaches that promote emotional regulation, cognitive growth, and healthyrelational functioning. Dr. Shabnam contributes to the development of counselling-informed programs, ensuring that interactive activities align with psychological principles and support positive developmental outcomes. Her clinical expertise includes working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and relationship challenges. Her approach strengthens Brain Land’s commitment to offering scientifically grounded and engaging experiences for children, youth, and families.
